History

Baxter & Associates, LLC, was founded by Stan and Pam Baxter in December 2003. Stan brought an extensive knowledge of and passion for the elevator industry after having worked for Baxter & Sons Elevator, Ltd., for 32 years. His last assignment at Baxter & Sons was as President, having full responsibility for maximizing shareholder value through cost control, maintenance and repair sales growth, contract compliance, training, and customer satisfaction. During his tenure at Baxter & Sons, Stan built a reputation for effectiveness, leadership, and integrity with his customers and fellow workers. He has always been known as hard working, loyal, and extremely competent in all areas of the elevator trade.

Pam joined Baxter & Sons Elevator, Ltd., as a sales representative when the oldest Baxter kids were on their way to college. She flourished in the job and eventually became a consistent sales leader for the company. She accepted a permanent position with the company in August 2005, specializing in business development.

In May 2004, Baxter & Associates hired their first full-time employee. In August, the company completed its first elevator installation (for Joe Warren). Later that same year, Stan began devoting more time to the business, and the company saw a marked increase in sales. Knowing that he would be most effective releasing some of the administrative duties and focusing on sales, Stan hired Jennifer Baxter Penner as Manager of Customer and Administrative Services in January 2005.

2005 was a big year for Baxter & Associates in other ways as well. An additional crew was added in the spring to meet the demands of increasing sales. Also in 2005, the Baxter’s youngest daughter, Jaclyn Baxter Younglove, joined the company as Manager of Maintenance and Repair Sales. In late October, Baxter & Associates hired their first salesperson, Jason Stufflebeam. Jason has since been promoted, taking on the roll of Production Manager in the summer of 2006.

By the end of 2005, in its first full calendar year of full-time operation, Baxter & Associates, LLC, had sold 62 units. Total bookings reached over $1.5 million, and actual sales were recorded at more than $950,000.

In June 2006, Jessica Baxter became the company’s newest employee after graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary with a master’s degree in Biblical Counseling. Gifted in the area of organization, Jessica took on the roll of Branch Manager and works closely with all other employees and customers.

The goal of Baxter & Associates has always been to specialize in high-end residential elevator installations. This dream became a reality through the help of key supplier, CemcoLift, and the company’s first large customer, Sharif-Munir Custom Homes. Sharif-Munir purchased an elevator from Baxter & Associates for the new DHome Showhouse and wound up committing all their subsequent elevator business to Baxter. Leveraging this opportunity, Baxter & Associates developed their logo and tagline, designed new business cards, created their ad-mobile with the signage on all of company trucks, and started an advertising campaign with DHome Magazine.

Service has always been a priority for the Baxter family. Family members actively serve in the elevator industry and education communities, as well as in their local communities and churches. Today, Baxter & Associates continues to grow through an effective sales department, by acquiring other companies, and by adding additional lines of business. Baxter & Associates has been blessed with tremendous success. The company currently employs seventeen people, and their new sales bookings for 2008 will exceed $3 million.
